Anneke Verbraeken is a freelance (investigative) journalist since 1993. She lives alternately in The Hague and France and works or worked for De Volkskrant, Trouw, Vrij Nederland, Libération. Recently she finished a book about asbestos (to be published in october 2009).
The past years she specialized in frenchspeaking African countries. Right now she is following a Rwandees candidate for the presidential elections. Together with Janneke Donkerlo she investigates the route of raw material from the mines of Kivu (East Congo) right to the buyers of mobile phones.
